I am sitting at my friend Dusti's house and was reminded it has been a LONG time since my last post. Guess there hasn't been much to say. Crop Camp is over, Rene' is in 7th grade and loving youth symphony. Thanksgiving is just around the corner and everyone is coming to our house this year since Mom has rotator cuff surgery. I have bought only one Christmas present!!!!

We had a great time at Tim and Shandi's Friday night. We played Who, What Where and I was horrible at it. We also played Pit (I think was the name) and it was fun, but had to go pick up the girl at the skating rink. I was so stressed after 3 hands of Pit I thought I needed a Valium.

Crop Camp...... Here I Come!

Tonight is the first night of our spring Crop Camp event and I am stuck at work while Shandra and Alicia are there getting everything ready for us. Rusty has a dinner for being at Rubbermaid over 25 years and I wanted to go with him to help him celebrate. Should be a good meal and then I am off and running to Camp Hiawatha in Wichita to Crop Camp.

I will miss the final season of ER tonight, but planned to watch it on my laptop tonight before I go to bed. I have also DVR'd it in case I get too busy scrapbooking and don't want to take the time to watch it....I can't imagine that, as I have been a BIG fan for the 15 years it has been running. It is the only show I HAVE to see every week. I am a little sad, but also happy it is over as now I am not tied emotionally to a TV series any longer...oh wait....Dexter starts again soon. Can't miss that either, and NUMB3RS and CSI, so much for not being addicted any longer.

What a wonderful hostess Paige was. She had supper ready for us when we arrived along with our choice of VERY TASTY beverages!!! Yummmmmmy!!! After stuffing our faces with Pizza Hut and a tour of her lovely home. AMAZING! We headed out to see "Confession of a Shopaholic", very funny! I threatened Alicia that if her purses start falling out of her closet, we were having a handbag garage sale. You should have seen the panic in her eyes.

OMG! I just finished New Moon, only two more books to go! I can't start book three until Friday...too much to do to get ready to go to KCMO next week! Hope to sneak in some reading on Sat and Sun. These books are geared toward the teen population, but I have really enjoyed them, and since Rene' is reading them too, it gives me some insight into what she is exposed to.

Plans for the Weekend- Update

So much for all my big plans. Ended up playing with a 6 week old baby boy all day today and did NOT get near done what I had hoped! Well worth the sacrifice.

This list is getting longer. My goals for this weekend keep changing and growing, and I will be thrilled if I can get even half accomplished.
1. Pack my scrapbook stuff for Ganza NO
2. Print pictures I need for Ganza NO
3. Start tearing down wallpaper in boys' old room, get ready to paint. Ha! Not even close to starting!
4. Clean out the fridge. Oh yeah, forgot about that one. LOL
5. Get all the "regular housekeeping done" YUCK! Done...well almost done!
6. Go for a walk or two.
7. Visit my friend Dusti. NOPE! Change of plans for both of us. Another time!
8. Read. A little bit last night and will again tonight.

My Idea of a Sunday Morning

Now this is my idea of a great Sunday morning...sitting back relaxing, watching a movie, sippin' coffee and updating my blog. We are watching In The Valley of Elah with Tommy Lee Jones. It is a great movie and he was nominated for an Oscar for his performance.

Randy just walked in the door to help Rusty grout the bathroom floor and here we sit. :o) Rusty just headed to shower and then they will hit it hard. I will be so glad to have my bathroom back soon, but it will all be worth it in the end.

My day will consist of laundry, housekeeping, the grocery store and hopefully a little time in my scrapbook area. I have been trying to get my Awesome Me album done and have one more project completed. I hope to start working on page kits for Crop-A-Ganza soon, Alicia is already prepared with 15 kits ready to pack.

Now to get motivated!

I woke up feeling great today...had fun last night at Jeremy and Dusti's house, got a baby fix and a little digi scrapbooking. Then came home and finished my friend Joyce's birthday present...only 3 weeks late. Will try to upload pics later. It is done in the CM Mini book that has 3 1/2 by 2 1/2 pages. Darling!!! Perfect to carry in your purse for a brag book. All she has to do is put in the pics.

Rocked baby Ashton to sleep and he slept all night per Mommy's report. She was dancing this morning after a good night sleep.

We put the tile in the bathroom this weekend. Can't wait until it is finished. Oh, to have a nice clean floor around the potty. One thing frustrating about living with men!

I am a little sad that my big brother Jeff left today, but I sure enjoyed his visit. I was able to get to know his father in law Hugh as well and that was such a joy. I still am amazed how much alike Jeff and I are, and never really knew each other until a few years ago, as we were raised in totally different parts of the US, and by different Mother's. Neither of us was close to our Father, but no matter, we have each other now.

As he makes his journey home, I know he has a lot on his mind and a lot of decisions to make about his future. I wish him well, I wish him happiness and look forward to the next time we are together.

I had a great lunch with my new friend Dusti today. She is the sweetest thing, and no bigger than a minute. She has two adorable little boys and her hubby works with my hubby at Rubbermaid. I was thrilled to learn she loves scrapbooking and has began doing some digi scrapbooking as well. I hope we can get together and scrapbook in the near future.

Good morning fellow bloggers. I am getting ready for my brother Jeff's visit this week, my birthday tomorrow and getting started on putting the new floor in the bathroom, and painting the spare bedroom. We will finally get rid of the stripped wallpaper and sports border and make it a neutral guest room.

My scrapbook room is officially moved back to the basement and I look forward to having friends over to crop some time in the next month or so.

I had so much fun Friday night at ScrapFunattic in Andover. Thanks to everyone who was able to share this time with me and for all the wonderful gifts...although I have been thinking about Shandra and Susan's gifts....bath smell good stuff...are you girls trying to tell me something? Yikes, I hope not.

Rusty's Mom got the results of her CT Scan today and there is no reason to believe she has cancer. Her pancreas is still and little enlarged, but they are just going to watch it.

Alicia is "crazy busy", Shandra is gone on vacation all the time (LOL), I can't seem to have time to spend with anyone with softball, home and such. I did get my second bathroom painted and border put up last week....been "working on it" too long.

Packing tonight and leaving tomorrow for Arizona and Colorado. Can't wait to be in the mountains...LOVE IT!!! Will see my brother for the first time in 15 years...he's my "Brother from another Mother" LOL. Then to Flagstaff and the Grand Canyon, still breathtaking even if I have been their twice before. After that, off to Colorado for rafting and 4 wheelin over passes outside Silverton.

Hope to see you at Crop Ganza in Sept! I WILL BE THERE!!! If not, catch up with me at Crop Camp in November.

A Weekend at The Dunes

We had such a great time this weekend in Waynoka, OK. My friend Kelly and her family joined us for Saturday and all the kids even had a chance to drive our buggy. Even Kelly's "big kid" Doug took his turn.

I have added a slide show of some of our photos. Kelly and I have decided we need to do this more often so we are in some of the pictures too. Often times we are just behind the camera.

What An Honor

I had the honor and previlage of sharing a very special event with my friend Bob Seley yesterday. He received his High School Diploma from Superintendent of USD 465 Marvin Estes. Bob is a WWII veteran, who left home at the age of 17 to defend our country, thereby giving up the opportunity to graduate with the rest of his class.

Bob was a volunteer in our Rehab Services Dept. and for WNH for many years. His kindness and generosity for his friends, family and community are invaluable. He is now living at the Kansas Veterans Home and is very ill. Please keep him in your prayers as he struggles with his health.

My Grandpa Wheeler

This is one of the best pictures I have of my Grandpa Wheeler. My Aunt Chris had it hanging in her house and I scanned it and photoshopped it a bit to clean it up and have printed an 8x10 to have framed for my Mom for Mother's day. I can't wait to see her face. My Mom and her Daddy were very close.

Grandpa was one of the greatest men I ever met. He not only drove a train for a living, he raised a house full of 6 girls, cared for my Grandmother with MS for 15 years and always loved us and made us laugh. I miss him so much every day.

OK, I have the name tags done, but need to sort them. I have class stuff all done and packed. I have my digi stuff packed. Gotta do laundry and pack some clothes, shouldn't need much but jammies. LOL The house is a wreck, my family is neglected, I forgot my Aunts birthday, but I am almost ready....I think.

Alicia, Shandra and I went for a girls "afternoon at the movies" on Sunday to unwind a bit before Crop Camp. We say Drillbit Taylor...kinda quirky, but cute. We laughed, and laughed. I am so glad we went. It was a nice time for the three of us.

Kids are coming for dinner Tuesday night, and Wednesday we go to set up the camp. Thank goodness for Seff and Rocky and their offer to help us. Don't know what I would do with out my Attic girls...and guys.

I am NOT taking anything to scrapbook, just laptop and photos on CD. Every year I say I am leaving it all at home, and never do...lug in in and set up my crop space and get MAYBE one layout done. Well not again! The shi___ is stayin home. I am looking forward to playing and visiting and maybe relaxin a little. Can't wait.

I am getting so excited about next weekend. I think I may be up to my shoulders in stuff for the scrapbook garage sale by Sunday night, but will be so glad to purge some items I either don't need to won't use anymore in hopes they will become someones treasure.

The shirts are so fun this year. I ordered two!!! If you didn't get one, you will be sorry! LOL

I can't wait to see everyone and there are some new names on the roster for this year. How exciting!!!!!!!!!!!

Happy Times Acrylic Album for Crop Camp

I have sent emails to my list of participants, but in case you don't get it I wanted to post some here as well. Please bring the following items, in addition to your basic scrapbook supplies.

1) 12-15 photos 3 1/2 x 5 that are of a related subject or event. This is a must, as we are adding photos to the album in class. It is not possible to do it later. The theme of the album is Happy Times with Friends. I would suggest bringing photos from a get together with your friends or family. They will work best as there are titles such as...friendship, laugh, look at me, today is a gift, moments like this. I hope this will help.

2) Zip Dry liquid adhesive or other adhesive that will stick paper to plastic and NOT show and dries clear. They sell this at both scrapbook stores in Wichita and at Scrapfunattic in Andover.

3) A fine tip Brown Permanent marker-if you have one, if not I will have mine you can barrow.

4) Ruler

5) Corner Rounder

6) Scissors

7) Brown ink for distressing edges of papers (optional)

Grief for my Friend

Today is a sad day. My friend Shandra lost her Mother this morning after a lengthy hospital stay with an exacerbation of COPD (Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease). I am so sad for her and her family. Times like this are so hard on everyone. Thankfully she has many friends and family supporting her through this difficult time. If you read this, say a quiet prayer for her and one for yourself, thanking God for all your blessings.

Thank goodness I had uploaded some to winkflash and photobucket so can order CD's from there. I am sick...they are memories lost forever.

My Birthday Cake

Rene' (with a little help from Daddy) baked my a birthday cake. I was so surprised. Not just with the cake but that she kept it a secret all day. LOL Had a great birthday today. Rusty helped me get the house picked up. He did all the laundry, and cooked supper. Randy, Anna and Ryan came over so had the whole family together today. Was very nice. Note the 46 in the cake. Rene' assures me she used a knife to do that and not her finger. :-) I am so blessed.

Joyce and I had a great day on Saturday celebrating our birthdays. We literally shopped til we dropped, ate too much, drank too much (Joyce did NOT like the Cosmos), and went to the Warren Theater (Margarita pitchers for $7)to see National Treasure II. We laughed and talked and had just good old girlfriend time. I will treasure it always. I hope we can do this every year! LOVE YOU!!!

Hard Drive CRASH with all my PHOTOS!

OK, when you are told to back up all you data ....DO IT! My pictures from the last two years are on it....ALL THE WEDDDING PHOTOS!!! I had put them all on an external HD, for easy transport to crops, classes, etc....well didn't back them up on my PC HD and now I am going to have to pay to see if they can retrieve the data.

In addition to that I am home with the flu and have a birthday weekend with my friend Joyce planned for Sat-Sun. Hope I am up to it.

Winter Wonderland

I just have to say I have LOVED all the snow we have been having. I understand there is more on the way. It has been so long since we had this much snow around the holidays. It made it even that more special. Have had the chance to get some great photos and video of Rene' and her brothers and cousins in the snow and look forward to some scrapbooking time this weekend.

We had such a blessed Christmas. It started off last Sunday with dinner at Rusty's Mom's in ElDorado. We were able to have all our kids there, and Rusty brother and his family too. The kids had a ball in the snow and we all ate way toooooo much...but that's what the holidays are for.

Christmas eve was at my parents house here in Winfield, with Berocks and Taco Soup!!! Yummmmmy!!! I got a NEW microwave!!!!! My Mom made fun of my old timer as it has a turn nob, not digital. It is soooo huge, you can fit a large size pizza box in it. Very cool. The kids spoiled us as usual, Randy and Anna got me Garth's new limited edition set...complete with DVD of over 30 videos and concert clips. LOVE IT! and also the new Eagles CD. Mucho hours of good listening for me!!! Rusty and I weren't suppose to get for each other, but he got me the new cologne I have been wanting. It is Affection by Mary Kay and I LOVE that too!!! I just love everything I got.

Rene' got her cell phone she has been wanting. She was so excited and surprised she almost cried. We let her open it at my parents on Christmas Eve and my Dad called the phone and she thought she has a music box in the box. She also thought my parents got it for her until I told her it was from her Dad and I. She was shocked! as Dad said NO to the idea of a cell phone for her at her age. Mom won that battle. LOL

Over all, it was a great time. I was off yesterday and spent 8 hours cleaning our basement storage closet, purging Christmas decorations, and reorganizing{Alicia would be proud}, everything is labeled so it is easy to find.

Weekend Plans

Not much going on this weekend. Rusty is in ElDorado re-roofing his Mom's house. I hope he doesn't freeze to death or get blown off the roof. There are wind advisories for Sat. Rene' and I may do some decorating outside on Sat. if it isn't too cold. Hard to get motivated to be outside in chilly windy weather.

I am planning to get my last challenge done tonight and get that posted and to Summer. I printed off some info and compared the day I was born to the day I graduated from High School, may add current stuff too for fun. She sure has had some fun challenges. I am hoping my friend Teri is going to come over a scrapbook with me too. More fun with friends. I sure miss my basement and being able to invite a group over. The 21 yo son has taken it over for now. (Frowning and sniffling).

The hospital Christmas party is Saturday night, and Rusty will come home for that. It is always a good time. They usually have great entertainment every year. I am just hoping the food is better this year than last.

May do a little Christmas shopping on Sunday. Still haven't convinced the hubby into letting us get Rene' a cell phone for Christmas. He is afraid she will loose it, and I understand that, but think it would sure be handy to have. I am usually the one who is more concerned about that....oh well, we still have time to convince him. LOL

I am really having an off day today. I feel like I am catching a cold, I have a headache and I feel like all I want to do is sleep. Not my old happy smiley self today. I hate days like this, when I drop everything and nothing fits right. I was late to work and just don't feel like doing anything! Hopefully it won't last. I am sure it will pass. Tonight we are having my Dad and oldest son Randy over for their birthday dinner and peanut butter cake...Randy's fav. My house is a mess, so have to go home and do a quick once over to get things in order, put the soup together and then should be ready. I love having company and know this will make me feel better.

Scrappin at the Attic

Friday night I met Shandra and Diann at Applebee's for dinner and then off to the Attic for a crop night. I must say it was probably the quietest crop I have ever been too. LOL There were the three of us, Danelle Curtis and her friend ____ If forgot her name already. I think I have a hole in my brain that all names go to and I can't remember them. Anyway, she is a foreign exchange student from Germany and is staying with Danelles mom this year. Of course Danelle turned her on to scrapbooking! You go girl. Other than all of us, there were three other ladies and everyone was soooooooooooooooo quiet. We finally talked Momma Debbie into changing the radio station from Dalila on B98 to 100.5...KIBB the Bob. What a great station. I had never listened to it, and I know why....about 5 miles from town I lost the signal in my car radio. Bummer!

Anyway, left Augusta with a beautiful snow falling. Thank goodness the roads were clear. We had a great time and hope to do it again someday. I was able to get several pages done, including some of the challenges from Summer's Awsoe{ME} class.

Today has been pretty laid back. Doing all the regular stuff, laundry, housework and working on Crop Camp website stuff. Tomorrow we head to ElDorado for a birthday party for my nephew Blake. It is a bowling part...should be fun!
